Congratulations to Christen Middle School's Aaron Sanchez for being named LISD's May Student of the Month. The LISD Student of the Month is sponsored by Laredo Federal Credit Union, Chick-Fil-A Marketplace on Bob Bullock, and Laredo Orthodontic.

Checkmate! LISD’s named its top chess players after a fierce competition this past Saturday at the LISD PAC in the Dr. Marcus Nelson Conference Center. The LISD Fine Arts Department hosted an All-Star Chess Tournament for the district’s All-Star chess players. The top 10 winners were recognized with either a trophy or medal for their accomplishments.

Laredo ISD recognized its Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year and Clerical and Instructional Paraprofessional of the Year nominees during the district’s Employee of the Year Banquet which was held at the Dr. Marcus Nelson Conference Center.

Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro from Christen Middle Mother’s day performing at the Mothers Day concert. The concert had special guest Mariachis groups from Farias Elementary Mariachi Halcones, Christen Middle School Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro, Martin High School Mariachi Los Tigres del Sur, and Martin High School Folklorico Fuego Fronterizo. The concert celebrated students successful year and more important all the moms to enjoy.

Students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement, citizenship, and perfect attendance throughout the school year. We are incredibly proud of all of our Cubs for their commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their students truly make a difference every day. We’re lucky to have them and grateful for the impact they make in our classrooms!

We are proud to recognize our 8th Grade Career & Technical Education (CTE) business students at Christen Middle School for their outstanding participation in the nationwide Intuit Hour of Finance™ Challenge during Financial Literacy Month!
Our campus was notified that our students earned Momentum Tier status, a distinction awarded to schools that are helping strengthen financial literacy and inspire learners across the country. This recognition reflects the dedication, curiosity, and commitment our students showed as they explored real‑world personal finance skills.
As part of this achievement, Christen Middle School will receive a celebratory banner for our hallways along with additional support materials provided through the program. Our educator will also receive an official Credly badge acknowledging this accomplishment.
Most importantly, our students gained valuable knowledge that will help them build financial confidence for the future. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the enthusiasm they brought to this challenge.
Congratulations to our 8th Grade Career & Technical Education (CTE) business class for representing Christen Middle School and Laredo ISD with excellence and embracing learning that prepares them for life beyond the classroom.

The LISD Athletic Office hosted the Triple A awards Ceremony at the LISD PA. The ceremony honored LISD middle and high school student-athletes. The students were recognized for having perfect attendance, straight A’s and a winning attitude. Each student was presented with either a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal for their academic achievements.
