Congratulations to Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro on the results from the Mariachi Region 14 tryouts. 24 Students are part of the 2024-2025 Region Mariachi and 4 Alternates. Four Christen Middle students won first chair in their instruments. Congratulations to our mariachi program.

CONGRATULATIONS to 8th grade CUB BAND student JOAQUIN LOPEZ! Joaquin competed yesterday, Saturday December 6th, at the TMEA HIGH SCHOOL ALL REGION BAND COMPETITION. The competition took place at Alice High School in Alice, TX. He competed against the top 23 trombone players from all the high schools from Laredo, Victoria, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. Joaquin placed 4th overall and earned a spot in the TMEA HIGH SCHOOL HONORS BAND and will be participating in the Concert and Clinic. The concert and Clinic will be taking place in Victoria, Texas on Friday and Saturday December 12th and 13th. CONGRATS JACK!!!
Mikayla Villarreal represented Christen Middle School at the 31st Mariachi Extravaganza National Vocal Competition at the Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio Texas. Mikayla did an amazing performance and showed Christen CUB Pride. She was judged by the famous Jonathan Palomar and Steve Carrillo. We are proud of her accomplishment.

Mariachi Los Tigrillos De Oro performed at the LISD Civic Jamaica at the LPAC. JV and Varsity shared their talents on stage and represented their Christen Middle School Pride.
Congratulations to Christen Middle School's Valentin Navarro for being named LISD November Student of the Month. The LISD Student of the Month is sponsored by Laredo Federal Credit Union, Chick-Fil-A Marketplace on Bob Bullock, and Laredo Orthodontics.

Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Club of Laredo, 2025 flag football tournament, 6th A Silver Division Champions.
Join us for our 6th Grade Beginner Band Concert
"CONGRATULATIONS to 8th grade band student JOAQUIN LOPEZ! This past Saturday, November 15th, Joaquin participated in the HIGH-SCHOOL TMEA ALL DISTRICT BAND competition on trombone and placed 3RD CHAIR! Joaquin, as an 8th grader, competed against trombone players from all 7 high schools from Laredo and placed 3rd out of a total of 45 trombone players that competed. He will now be advancing to compete at the Region level against trombone players from all high schools from Laredo to Corpus Christi on Saturday December 6th. Congratulations and GOOD LUCK!!!
SHOUT-OUT to 8th grader Rene Benavides as well. Rene placed 18th out of a total of 37 Euphonium players at this competition.
L.J Christen is going back on the road! After a successful trip to Washington and New York City this past summer, we are doing it again!

Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro performed at the Outlets of Laredo celebrating the beginning of holiday season. Our mariachi students performed for an hour and represented Christen middle in the celebration.
