Join us for our 6th Grade Beginner Band Concert
"CONGRATULATIONS to 8th grade band student JOAQUIN LOPEZ! This past Saturday, November 15th, Joaquin participated in the HIGH-SCHOOL TMEA ALL DISTRICT BAND competition on trombone and placed 3RD CHAIR! Joaquin, as an 8th grader, competed against trombone players from all 7 high schools from Laredo and placed 3rd out of a total of 45 trombone players that competed. He will now be advancing to compete at the Region level against trombone players from all high schools from Laredo to Corpus Christi on Saturday December 6th. Congratulations and GOOD LUCK!!!
SHOUT-OUT to 8th grader Rene Benavides as well. Rene placed 18th out of a total of 37 Euphonium players at this competition.
L.J Christen is going back on the road! After a successful trip to Washington and New York City this past summer, we are doing it again!

Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro performed at the Outlets of Laredo celebrating the beginning of holiday season. Our mariachi students performed for an hour and represented Christen middle in the celebration.

Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro represented Christen middle school at the Dia de Los Muerto Jamaica for Mother Cabrini Church this past Sunday. Parents and Students enjoyed music, Jamaica's activities, and supported our community in the Jamaica.
The L.J. Christen Middle School Chess Club has done it AGAIN! Under the leadership of Mr. Villa, our talented players have secured their third championship in a row!

Mikayla is one of our 6th grade Vocalist and she has advanced to the Semifinals of the 31st Annual Mariachi Extravaganza National Vocal Competition! More than 200 students registered from different states like California, Nevada, and Texas to compete in this competition. Only close to 30 students were selected to compete at the semifinals in San Antonio, Texas. Mikayla will be representing Christen Middle School at the National Extravaganza Vocal competition on Thursday, December 4, at the Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio, Texas.

Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro represented Christen Middle School at the Laredo ISD Border Fiesta this past Saturday 18th. Mariachi students performed two performances with the JV group and Varsity group. Students, and mariachi parents brought Christen CUB pride to the event.
