Christen Middle School 8th grade students had a surprise visitor last week. Olympian Jennifer “La Traviesa” Lozano stopped by the school as she was on her way to Colorado to begin her training for the U.S. boxing team. Lozano spoke to the students on the importance of making the right choices and to believe in themselves. La Traviesa even took time to shake hands and take pictures with the students.

Accompanied by Ms. Rodriguez and Mr. Castillo, our students enjoyed a memorable educational experience filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and discovery outside the classroom.

Also represented Christen Middle School at the Laredo Grito Celebration celebrating the 216th anniversary of the Mexican Independence with the Consulado General de Mexico de Laredo, and el Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo.
