The nominated student should also demonstrate one of the four Leading the Way categories; Leading with Heart, Inspiring Change, Supports Growth, and Drive Results.

Cub students, Laura Rivera and Zhury Ferrera auditioned and qualified to be in the High School TMEA All Region Band. Laura and Zhury were 2 of only a total of 11 middle school students that earned a spot in the high school region band along with over 250 other high school band students from Laredo to Corpus Christi.
