The Laredo Independent School District is hosting its sixth annual Scholars Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.


Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will benefit scholarships for deserving graduating seniors from the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, Raymond and Tirza Martin High School, J.W. Nixon High School, and Dr. Leonides Cigarroa High School

We are continuing to seek sponsors and teams for the tournament. If you need more information on being sponsor or want to register a team, please contact Bobby Trevino at rwtrevino@laredoisd.org or by phone at 273-1732.

We are so proud to highlight our Christen Middle School parent volunteer Mrs. L. Rincon who shared her talent yesterday January 19, 2026 at the Life Skills Course held at the Performance Arts Center (PAC)! She taught LISD parents, guardians, and staff how to create a beautiful Bobo Balloon Rose Craft—inspiring others while teaching a fun and creative new skill.

Thank you for being an inspiration, encouraging parent involvement, and reminding us of the power of sharing our talents with others. 💛

We would like to Congratulate all students that competed in the TMEA Region 14 Band Auditions. We had 18 students who made one of the region bands. Congratulations to Joaquin Lopez on auditioning and qualifying for a spot in the TMEA Region 14 High School Honor Winds! Joaquin participated in the high school Region 14 concert and clinic Friday and Saturday December 12th and 13th at the Victoria Fine Arts Center in Victoria, TX. He was the ONLY middle school student to earn a spot in the Honor Winds group comprised of the top high school band students from region 14(Laredo, Victoria, Corpus Christi)
