Congratulations to our Christen Chess Team. Over the weekend, the team placed first amongst all the middle schools in LISD. Erasmo Valdez placed first in the rated division - Joaquin Lopez placed 8th in the rated division - Gilbert Cordova placed 3rd in the non-rated division - Said Espinoza placed 9th in the rated division. LISD is celebrating Texas Public School Week! LISD is opening its 20 elementary and four middle schools for parents and guardians to visit on Wednesday, February 26, from 8:30 a.m., to 11:30 a.m., and 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Report cards will be issued at LISD elementary schools.

No money is due at this time. Students have until May 2, 2025, to turn in their money.

Congratulations to Yamariz Guadian for being selected as a vocal finalist on the prestige Mariachi Competition FESTIBA at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edingburg Texas. Yamariz was selected as a finalist for the vocal competition out of hundreds of students that submitted their registration. Yamariz Guadian, 8th grade student, will be representing Christen Middle School and Laredo ISD together with Christen Middle School Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro on February 28th-March 1st, and will be learning and judge by Grammy Award- Winning Mariachi Sol De Mexico.
Congratulations to David Morales who obtained 3rd place in the individuals category,
MathCounts competition which included almost 200 competitors.
